G. W. Thomas is an award-winning author, as well as a critic, editor, poet, cartoonist and illustrator. (Jack of all-trades, master of none...)The title of the newspaper article that went with this picture was "Monster Man", and it is an apt one at that, as GW works in the Science Fiction/Fantasy/Horror genres (with some Mystery and Westerns thrown in). He doesn't think of himself as being a "Horror writer", for instance, but a "monster writer", working in any genre that allows him to create weird creatures and strange landscapes. Read an interview with him from Quasar Dragon. Here's another one from SFReader.com.

G. W. Thomas has appeared over 400 different publications (too many to list here so he will just give you an alphabet full) including The Armchair Detective, Black October Magazine, Chiaroscuro, The Dream People, Eldritch Tales, Flesh & Blood, Golden Perils, The Harrow, Ibn Quirtaiba, Jobs in Hell, Kaleidotrope, Lovecraft's Mystery Magazine, The Mystery Review, Nightscapes, October Moon, The Phone Book, Quantum Muse, The Rose & the Thorn, Science Fiction Writer's Market Place and Sourcebook, Tales of Terror, The Unspeakable Oath, The Vampire's Crypt, The Writer, (No X or Y!) and The Zone.

This website is also home to three publications:

Kings of the Night is a free quarterly webzine of Sword & Sorcery fiction and fun. The first issue features Robert E. Keller, C. L. Werner, G. W. Thomas, David A. Hardy, Jack Mackenzie and James Lecky. You will also find a history and reader's guide to S&S as well as links to audio, comics, nonfiction, art galleries and more fiction. It's an Heroic Fantasy fan's dream. And it's all free.

Dark Worlds Magazine is a Pulp-descended illustrated magazine for genre fans. It is co-edited by M. D. Jackson. It's a mix of Sword & Sorcery, Horror, Space Opera, Historical Adventure, Detective and Weird Westerns. The genre isn't as important as stories with fast-paced action and fantastic color. Start collecting these gems today.
