CONAN THE DESTROYER (1984)
Favorite Scene: When Conan meets Zula for the first time.
Least Favorite Scene: When Malek explains sex to the innocent Princess Jennha. Shoot them both.
Things I Still Like: The fact that Roy Thomas & Gerry Conway got to write one. (That said, they should have risen to the challenge and written a better one. The plot of the film feels like a AD&D adventure, and not even a good one.) Liked Malek (though would have preferred Subotai) and Zula in the supporting cast. Zula is a lot of fun. They should have give her a movie instead of Brigette Nielsen.
Things I Still Hate (Or Newly Hate): Pretty much everything, but I will pick a few gems from the pile. The entire section of teh film at the magic castle with the mirrors and Thak. Talk about wrecking a classic Conan story. Princess Jennha, played by future Bond girl, Olivia D'Abo, should have been killed in the first ten minutes. The opening of the film was a really bad fight scene, not sure why. Prefers the director thought it was a comedy? The monsters in this film (though a little Mythos) still sucked. I thought Dagoth would save the last part of the film but I remembered wrong.
