DESCRIPTION: "They swayed forth from the stygian darkness, lithe, robed bodies with drooping hoods concealing long faces with glowing red rubies instead of eyes. Thin stalks of wood, like beaks, substituted for noses. Clutched in their gloved fists were enormous scythes gleaming silver. Their heads bobbed crowlike, and they seemed to communicate without language, though their breath gurgled through lungs thick with mucus..." (The Arcanum by Thomas Wheeler)
NOTES: The demons are homunculi created by Paul Caleb and Darian deMarcus. On deMarcus's estate in an underground system of tunnels, the demons are created with magic using the severed wings of the the Children of Enoch (angels). These animated monsters are armed with scythes which they use to chop up their masters enemies or kill angels to make more demons. The demons can fly with their stolen wings. They are not impervious to gunfire and other severe forms of trauma. Calen and deMarcus plan to take over the world with their army of killers.
HISTORY: These foot soldiers of the bad guys are creepy because they are weird looking, gross and totally mindless slaves of their animators.
