WELCOME
PARD!
A
gulch, as everybody knows, is a deep ravine that fills with water when it rains.
The town of Devil's Gulch was built on stilts to avoid these occasional floods.
Local legend says that in 1854 Thomas Ledbeiter paid his immortal soul to the
Devil to hold back the spring floods, so he could save his wife and baby daughter.
Since that day Devil's Gulch has bore that name and hasn't been flooded since.
The town residents built the town on stilts but have never seen their streets
flooded, ever.
The
strangest things have happened since 1854. In 1859 the dead rose from Boot Hill
and ate thirteen people until a local Indian shaman destroyed the undead. On April
15, 1865, on the same day president Lincoln was shot, a golden angel appeared
on the stage of the local saloon and told the local drinkers, five hours before
the news had traveled West. In 1873, an itinerant gambler was hung for being a
werewolf. His moon-shaped cuff links have been traded around in poker games ever
since.
Devil's Gulch
is not a town for everyone. Some have struck it rich in the hills nearby. Others
have lost their lives chasing a dream. Still others have come there because the
hunting is good. Still others because they hunt the things that are bad.
