DOXYS (2003)

SOURCE: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J. K. Rowling (2003) .

DESCRIPTION: "Harry had been spraying only a few seconds when a fully-grown Doxy cane soaring out of a fold in the material, shiny beetle-like wings whirring, tiny neddle-sharp teeth bared, its fairy-like body covered with thick black hair and its four tiny fists clenched with fury." (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J. K. Rowling)

NOTES: Doxys are fairy-like creatures that infest houses like termites. They slowly destroy everything if left unchecked. To remove them, Mrs. Weasley uses a Doxy spray from one of Gilderoy Lockhart's book. The bite of the Doxy is poisonous but an antidote is kept close by. Fred and George Weasley take several of the stunned creatures to use in the making of magical prank tricks.

HISTORY: Not in the movie, of course. There just isn't enough time in most films for some good house-cleaning.
