NOTES: The New Race Abomination grew inside Harker, one of the New Race created by Victor Helios. This creature killed its birth parent, then escaped down a sewer. No doubt it will be featured in the two sequels to Prodigal Son. There are hints that some kind of a similar mutation has happened before in the basement of Helios's lab.

HISTORY: This monster is Koontz's nod to H. P. Lovecraft. He (more likely Kevin J. Anderson) even mentions the modern master of horror "...Harker was Hyde out of Jekyll, Quasimodo crossed with the Phantom of the Opera, minus the black cape, minus the slouch hat, but with a dash of H. P. Lovecraft." More than a dash, boys.
