GNOMES (1998)
SOURCE: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J. K. Rowling (1998) and sequels.
DESCRIPTION: "It was nothing like Father Christmas. It was small and leathery looking, with a large, knobbly, bald head exactly like a potato. Ron held it at arm's length as it kicked out at him with its horny little feet; he grasped it around the ankles and turned it upside down." (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J. K. Rowling)
NOTES: Gnomes are a magical pest that Ron and his brothers must deal with in the garden at The Burrow, the Weasley home. The method for getting rid of gnomes is to grab them by the legs and spin them around, then chuck them over the garden fence. Once dizzy the gnomes will not be able to find their way back to their gnomeholes. This method is of highly dubious efficiency. Gnomes have razor sharp teeth.
HISTORY: Not your 1970s Gnomes! Not in the movie either.
