THE MAN WITH TWO FACES (1997)

Professor Quirrell played by Ian Hart and Voldemort's face

SOURCE: Harry Potter and the Philosophers' Stone by J. K. Rowling (1997) and sequels.

DESCRIPTION: "" (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J. K. Rowling)

NOTES: Professor Quirrell pretends to be a bumbling, stuttering fool but in actual fact he is an evil wizard who has a second face on the back of his head. he hides this with a large purple turban. The second face belongs to his master, Voldemort. Quirrell drinks the blood of unicorns to help Voldemort survive. He wants to steal the Philosopher's Stone from Dumbledore so he can create a new body for his master. He dies when he tries to murder Harry Potter. Harry's mother's love is so strongly about him that when Quirrell touches him, his flesh turns to ashes.

HISTORY: I have to admire how well J. K. Rowling used the red herring of professor Snape to draw suspicion away from Quirrell. An old Mystery-writing technique, she pulls it off nicely. The creepy face on the back of the head works too.
