MOTH BIRDS (1957)

SOURCE: Star Born (1957) by Andre Norton

DESCRIPTION: "But all the flying things he saw were two moth birds of delicate hues engaging far over the sun-baked rock in one of their graceful winged dances." (Star Born by Andre Norton)

NOTES: Moth Birds are harmless creatures that resemble both moths and birds. Their life is short lived and given to dancing about the air. They produce a fluting song. The Free Folk use them are part of their living communications system.

HISTORY: Norton's world of Astra is not just a place of monsters but contains other types of animals as well.
