"The Return of Sir Richard Grenville" by Robert E. Howard (1968) Originally appeared in Red Shadows (1968). Plot: Kane is wandering in the jungle when the ghsot of his old commander appears to warn him black warriors are coming his way. The two men stand together as they fight and when kane is no longer under attack he notices he is alone. Monsters Ghost of Sir Richard Grenville - he appears to help Kane fight a desperate battle. History: Written in circa 1928, this poem shows once again how well Howard commanded narrative poetry.
